About Us
Our Story
In 2020 we moved out of the city of Albuquerque with the intention of growing more food for our growing family. We have many food allergies and found that the disruption of the food supply chain was particularly disruptive to our family. We found our home in Bosque Farms, which was a perfect fit for us and our 3 little boys. Our boys, the Johnson Brothers, are our inspiration, as we look to provide enough fresh fruits and vegetables to keep them growing strong. Our small farm, all 1 acre of it, seems massive to us, but is rather tiny compared to most farms. The Johnson Brothers Tiny Farm is a place where we care for our family, our neighbors, and the earth through regenerative farming.
Our property has over a dozen fruit trees on it, which have provided delicious treats for us and fruit to make our artisanal jams and jellies. Our signature jam is our elderberry jam, made from berries picked from the tree in our yard. We have learned a lot about the healing properties of various super foods that grow here and enjoy sharing the bounty that our land provides.
We began selling our jams and chicken and duck eggs at the Bosque Farms Growers Market in 2021. We were given a stall next to a woman with pink and blue hair who was selling the best lotion we have ever put on our skin. She had been perfecting her recipe over the last 20 years, and the proof was in the health and vibrancy of our skin. She adopted us as family and we adopted her as Grandma Sue. With all of our food allergies and skin sensitivities, we are careful about what we put in our bodies and what we put on our skin. Sue’s all-natural, goat milk lotion was a product so pure that you could eat it, and so luxurious that we never wanted to use anything else. Early in 2024, Sue told us that this would be her last year at the market. She was planning to retire at the end of the year. There are so many of her customers, like us, that have come to count on her lotion and we couldn’t imagine life after Sue stopped making it. We approached her about the legacy of her lotion and were honored that she would consider us to keep her legacy going. We have begun producing the same amazing goat milk lotions and soaps that she had perfected, and look forward to continuing to honor Sue as she moves into a well-earned retirement. We invite you to come along with us as we continue the journey that Sue began all those years ago.
We have begun to partner with other vendors that we have worked shoulder to shoulder with from April until the end of October every year. There are so many amazing products, with even more amazing people behind them, that we want more people to be able to experience. As we grow this market place, we will provide the highest quality locally sourced products to you. We are committed to be true to our goals of caring for our family, our neighbors, and the earth in everything we do.
